Director of Operations

At Boddle Learning, we’re on a mission to make learning engaging and impactful through gamified, standards-aligned experiences for K-6 students. As we scale our platform and team, we’re looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Director of Operations to build and optimize the systems that keep our business running smoothly. As Director of Operations, you will be responsible for building out the infrastructure and processes that support our growth—from vendor and financial operations to compliance and team coordination. You’ll work closely with the leadership team to ensure our back office runs efficiently, securely, and in alignment with our strategic goals.
Responsibilities:
- Business Operations
- Oversee and manage internal operations processes (e.g., billing, vendor payments, invoicing, renewals)
- Implement and optimize tools and workflows for team productivity and project tracking
- Coordinate cross-functional processes across departments (e.g., Product, Sales, Customer Success)
- Compliance & Risk
- Manage school district data privacy agreements (DPAs) and ensure compliance with FERPA/COPPA
- Oversee security/compliance frameworks (e.g., Vanta, SOC2 readiness)
- Track and ensure proper reporting and payment of state sales tax liabilities
- Finance & Vendor Management
- Maintain and manage relationships with external vendors and service providers
- Support budget planning and monitor cost efficiency across tools and platforms
- Collaborate with finance on financial ops, reconciliations, and basic reporting
- HR & Admin
- Manage onboarding/offboarding workflows in coordination with leadership
- Support hiring logistics, contracts, and payroll tools (as needed)
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in operations, biz ops, or program/project management—ideally in a startup or high-growth environment
- Strong understanding of business systems, compliance frameworks, and financial operations
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfortable with ambiguity and wearing many hats; scrappy and solutions-oriented
- Familiarity with tools like Notion, ClickUp, QuickBooks, Google Workspace, Vanta, and Slack
- Bonus: Experience working with K-12 schools or edtech compliance requirements
