The Nursing Assistant will provide direct patient care and support to nursing staff, ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of patients. This role is essential in delivering high-quality care and maintaining a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
- Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration).
- Provide basic patient care under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) or licensed practical nurses (LPNs).
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
- Support patients with mobility, positioning, and transfers using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring dietary needs are met.
- Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms, equipment, and common areas.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort at all times by following established protocols.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
- Document care provided and maintain accurate patient records.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program.
- Active CNA certification (state-specific requirement).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting is a plus.
