Job Summary

A Functional Engineer is responsible for ensuring that systems, products, or processes meet functional requirements and perform as intended. This role bridges the gap between design, development, and testing by validating specifications, supporting implementation, and troubleshooting functional issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze functional requirements and translate them into engineering specifications.
  • Collaborate with design, development, and quality teams to ensure systems operate as intended.
  • Create functional documentation, including requirement specifications, test cases, and user manuals.
  • Conduct functional testing and validation to identify gaps, defects, or areas for improvement.
  • Provide technical support during installation, integration, and deployment of systems or products.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and provide solutions.
  • Monitor system performance and propose enhancements for functional efficiency.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for functional issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, or relevant field).
  • Proven experience in a functional engineering role or similar.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering and functional design principles.
  • Experience with functional testing, validation, and documentation.
  • Familiarity with relevant tools/software for modeling, testing, and documentation.
