Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled General Surgeon / Orthopedic Surgeon to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating surgical conditions, performing a wide range of surgeries, providing pre-operative and post-operative care, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Surgical Duties

  • Perform surgical procedures based on specialization (General or Orthopedic).
  • Conduct patient evaluations, diagnostic tests, and clinical decision-making.
  • Develop surgical treatment plans and obtain informed consent.
  • Provide pre-operative preparation and post-operative management.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as required.
  • Ensure adherence to surgical safety protocols and infection control guidelines.

General Surgeon Responsibilities (If Applicable)

  • Perform abdominal, gastrointestinal, hernia, appendectomy, gallbladder, and trauma surgeries.
  • Manage emergency surgeries and acute care cases.
  • Treat soft-tissue, endocrine, and minor vascular issues.

Orthopedic Surgeon Responsibilities (If Applicable)

  • Diagnose and treat musculoskeletal injuries and disorders.
  • Perform joint replacement surgeries (hip, knee, shoulder).
  • Conduct fracture management, arthroscopy, spine-related surgeries, and orthopedic trauma care.
  • Oversee rehabilitation and coordinate with physiotherapy teams.

Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with anesthesiologists, nurses, and surgical technicians.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and case discussions.
  • Provide guidance to residents, junior doctors, and support staff.
  • Coordinate with physiotherapy, radiology, and rehabilitation departments for holistic patient care.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate patient records, operative notes, and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and legal guidelines.
  • Adhere to NABH/JCI standards for quality and safety.
  • Participate in audits, mortality reviews, and peer evaluations.

Required Qualifications

  • MBBS with MS/MD/DNB in General Surgery or Orthopedics.
  • Valid Medical Council registration (State/National).
  • Proven experience in independent surgical practice.
  • Strong clinical decision-making, precision, and surgical skills.
  • Excellent communication and patient management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fellowship in laparoscopic surgery, trauma care, spine surgery, arthroscopy, or joint replacement.
  • Experience in managing critical and emergency cases.
  • Exposure to high-volume surgical departments or multispecialty hospitals.
